NEWPARK ACQUIRES RHEOCHEM AVA S.p.A. parent company, Newpark Resources, Inc. ("Newpark") (NYSE: NR) has completed the agreement with Rheochem Plc of Australia for the purchase of Rheochem’s drilling fluids business. Newpark will acquire the "Rheochem" name. The purchase of Rheochem gives Newpark an important foothold in the growing Asia Pacific region and supports the continued global expansion of Newpark’s drilling fluids operations. Rheochem custom designs specialist drilling fluids systems to meet each client's individual requirements, as well as providing office-based support, rig-based support, plant-based fluids engineers and laboratories services. Rheochem provides drilling fluids and engineering services to the oil and gas exploration and geothermal industries with operations in Australia, New Zealand and India through subsidiary companies.
